Connect

Samantha Tosto is a justice researcher in RTI’s Corrections and Reentry Research Program. Her research interests include program evaluation, re-entry and community-based services, behavioral treatment programs in correctional settings, officer training, community perspective of law enforcement, and legal system responses to gendered violence. She has training in both quantitative and qualitative analytical methods. Dr. Tosto contributes to several projects, including Assessment of the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ Restrictive Housing Practices, and Partners for Reentry Opportunities in Workforce Development (PROWD).

Prior to joining RTI in 2024, Dr. Tosto served as a research fellow for the Tow Youth Justice Institute to address policy and practice issues related to juvenile justice and corrections. She also previously served as a senior research assistant at Brown University’s School of Public Health studying the implementation of behavioral treatments for opioid use disorder.
