Community Engagement

RTI Staff at UNC Science Expo

Our community engagement initiatives leverage our resources and expertise where they are needed most. We invest in partnerships along four community affairs pillars: sponsoring, volunteering, charitable giving and educating. Our programs promote health, education, equity and environmental sustainability in the communities where we live and work.

Staff-driven donations

Taking a grassroots approach to philanthropy, our Community Partnership Program is driven by the nominations and priorities of our global staff and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). We support nonprofit partners who provide direct services to people in need. We are a top corporate donor and hold an annual staff giving campaign for United Way. Additionally, we organize staff fundraisers with corporate matching for natural disasters and humanitarian crises worldwide.

Strengthening our communities

We partner with organizations to make lasting improvements in our communities, with particular emphasis on:

  • Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)
  • Education
  • Economic development and
  • Innovation

Our staff volunteer their time and expertise to support nonprofit organizations. To assist our staff's children in their educational pursuits, we also provide financial assistance through the George Watts Hill Scholarship Program, managed by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
