Samantha Scott is a research public health analyst at RTI International who completed her Master of Social Work at Appalachian State University. As a licensed clinical social worker, she has more than 13 years of experience dedicated to better understanding and supporting the needs of families of children with autism spectrum disorder and related conditions, through a variety of clinical and research positions. Ms. Scott has broad training and background in clinical and macro level social work, with expertise in naturalistic developmental behavioral interventions and parent coaching in early intervention.

Ms. Scott is currently involved in research focused on development and implementation of remote interventions and supports for families impacted by neurodevelopmental disorders (Parent-Infant Inter(X)action Intervention), including Angelman syndrome, Dup15q syndrome, fragile x syndrome, Prader-Willi, and Williams syndrome. Her interests and specialization includes: early intervention, young children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families/caregivers, remote interventions, parent coaching, and empowerment. 

In addition to the clinical research she conducts at RTI, Ms. Scott is an Adjunct Clinical Instructor at UNC TEACCH Autism Program, providing national and international training to educators, allied health providers, and caregivers on diagnosis and support of individuals with autism spectrum disorder. Prior to joining RTI, Ms. Scott spent a decade at the UNC TEACCH Autism Program engaged in provision of structured teaching and Early Start Denver Model therapeutic interventions, both clinically and in translational research projects.
