Garrett McKeown Wessler

Garrett McKeown Wessler is an Innovation Analyst for RTI Innovation Advisors, a business unit for RTI International. Currently, Dr. McKeown Wessler supports the technology transfer and commercialization efforts for federal agencies, including NASA and the Department of Homeland Security. He conducts secondary research and analysis related to new technologies, potential markets, and innovation ecosystems, and provides insights that ensure clients understand their options and the opportunities. Related to clients’ commercialization efforts, he participates in testing value propositions, uncovering technical, business and user considerations, identifying potential partners and assessing assets for value.

Dr. McKeown Wessler joined RTI in 2022. Prior, he completed his PhD at Duke University where his research focused on the discovery and study of new inorganic semiconductors for applications in optical and optoelectronic devices. The discovery process was founded in solid-state chemistry methods and understanding the structural and electronic properties of new materials that impact the light-matter interactions within the compounds.
