Amanda Walsh is a research economist at RTI where she applies mixed qualitative and quantitative methods to microeconomic analyses and the interdisciplinary assessment of emerging science and technology. She analyzes the return on investment, benefits, and cost of policy initiatives, especially as it pertains to public-private partnerships, scientific research infrastructure, technological change, and innovation. 

Currently, Dr. Walsh serves as a project manager and consultant on the Economic Analysis of Commonwealth Science and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) Innovation Programs. She is also the project director on The Cost of Externalities Associated with Insecure Software, funded by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). 

Recently, Dr. Walsh was a project director on the Assessment of the Retrospective and Prospective Economic Impacts of Investment in U.S. Neutron Research Sources and Facilities from 1960 to 2030. 

In addition to her work, Dr. Walsh holds a professional membership at the Society for Benefit Cost Analysis.
