The aging workforce presents organizations with numerous challenges that will become more pronounced over the next several decades. As organizations grapple with this aging workforce, a strategic human resource management challenge will be to offer new and attractive opportunities that capture the desire of older workers to continue to contribute to organizational life in significant ways. This article examines some of the strategies that organizations might use to create structures, policies, and procedures that cultivate an environment supportive of older workers' performance, work attitudes and motivation, and physical and psychological well-being.
