Rayer, A. V., El Hadri, N., Quang, D. V., & Abu-Zahra, M. R. M. (2015). Development of amine-blend systems for CO2 post-combustion capture. In Advances in Gas Processing: Proceedings of the 4th International Gas Processing Symposium (pp. 59-68). https://doi.org/10.1016/C2013-0-19013
Post-combustion process reference is based with an aqueous solution of monoethanolamine (MEA 30wt %). However, regeneration of this solvent require a high energy. This present research work is focused the development and the thermodynamic characterization of amine blends in order to find promising system. Blends of monoethanolamine (MEA), diethanolamine (DEA), N-ethyldiethanolamine (MDEA), and Piperazine (PZ) were used and compared with the reference MEA 30wt%. MDEA 10wt% / Pz 20wt% show the highest CO2 absorption capacity with 0.92 mol of CO2 / mol of amine in comparison with MEA 30wt%. From this result, heat of absorption of CO2 was realized and a value of CO2 of 79.75 kJ/mol was found.
