The Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003 was not designed to emphasize health promotion and disease prevention (HPDP) for seniors, yet it includes some relevant benefits for the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to implement. It presents several important opportunities to expand HPDP under Medicare.
