Advances in Health Literacy Research-and Meditations on a Tool Shed
Advances in Health Literacy Research
Bailey, S., McCormack, L. A., & Paasche-Orlow, M. K. (Eds.) (2016). Advances in Health Literacy Research-and Meditations on a Tool Shed: Advances in Health Literacy Research. Journal of Health Communication, 21(Suppl 1), 3-4. https://doi.org/10.1080/10810730.2016.1144662
This year’s special issue continues to explore the constantly evolving and growing field of health literacy research. Included are eight articles that increase our understanding of the relationship between health literacy and health outcomes, describe interventions and tools to enhance patient education and overcome literacy barriers, and explore the measurement of health literacy. We hope these additions to the scientific literature will be of benefit to health literacy researchers and practitioners, promoting dialogue and creating an evidence base to inform future research and practice initiatives.
