Promoting STEM education and engagement in our community
RTI was honored to serve as the presenting sponsor of the 2024 North Carolina Science Festival (NCSciFest), an initiative of the Morehead Planetarium and Science Center. Together with our local partners, we are committed to promoting STEM education, collaboration, and innovation to inspire the next generation of scientists in our community and advance the progress of North Carolina.
NCSciFest runs throughout the month of April each year and celebrates science's educational, cultural, and economic impact in our state. This year's theme was State of Innovation, which highlighted North Carolina's cutting edge research and practice in STEAM and related fields. Science lovers from across the state met scientists from RTI and other local institutions, participated in hands-on activities, viewed exciting exhibits, and more.
RTI researchers and volunteers led activities for several events, including:
- The UNC Science Expo at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
- !Celebremos Las Ciencias! at the Museum of Life and Science in Durham
- The Dueling Dinos exhibit at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh
