The rankings were based on a survey of 50,000 U.S.-based employees
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — RTI International, a nonprofit research institute, has been named among Forbes’ Best Employers for Women.
In the 2022 edition of the Forbes list, released Tuesday, RTI ranks #336 of the companies that made the cut.
“We are thrilled to earn this distinction from Forbes,” said RTI president and CEO Tim J. Gabel. “At RTI, our workforce is over 60% women. We’re committed to providing a positive environment where women feel supported, empowered and represented in leadership positions.”
The list was determined by an independent survey of 50,000 employees currently employed at companies with at least 1,000 workers in their U.S. operations.
Women who participated in the survey were asked to evaluate their own employer on issues such as general working conditions, salary and wage, parental leave, family support and pay equity. Participants were also asked to evaluate other employers in their respective industries that stood out either positively or negatively.
The rankings also factored in an extensively researched index that determined the share of women in executive management or board positions at each company.
This marks the second Forbes recognition for RTI in 2022. In February, the institute was named to Forbes’ 2022 list of Best Midsize Employers for the sixth time.
