Robert H. He is currently involved in the development of multiple sectoral as well as macroeconomic models for use in assessment of both domestic and international policies and programs.

The applications of his research include studies evaluating the economic impacts of climate and extreme weather adaptation, the potential for and economic impacts of mitigating environmental impacts from agriculture for regions around the world, low emissions development strategies (LEDS), and implications of these impacts on nutrient availability and health. In addition, his research applications include analyses of the economic and environmental impacts of large-scale bioenergy production, alternative scenarios affecting development of the energy and transportation sectors, changes in land cover and land use and associated greenhouse gas and other emissions, reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD+), risk management, factors influencing forest investment and management, and the use of remote sensing data and machine learning to generate more spatially disaggregated model results.
