Peter Collier is the Chief of Party for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Reducing Demand for Wildlife at RTI. He has more than 20 years of international development experience leading complex, regional initiatives covering the Asia Pacific, including U.S. Support to the Coral Triangle Initiative, U.S. Support to the Indian Ocean Tsunami Warning System, and USAID’s Program for Enhancement of Emergency Response. He has coordinated large-scale capacity strengthening initiatives for United Nations’ disaster management programs across the Asia Pacific, and has extensive experience working with senior government officials, coordinating intergovernmental and multilateral bodies in regional governance and policy reform. Mr. Collier is fluent in Mandarin Chinese, Woleaian, Albanian, Macedonian, and Spanish. He previously served as Chief of Party for the USAID Wildlife Asia activity, which made notable strides towards reducing both the demand for and the supply of wildlife and wildlife products in Southeast Asia and China from 2015 to 2020.
