Patrick McHugh is a research economist at RTI. He has over 15 years of experience with applied economic research, policy analysis, strategic communications, and community engagement. He is an expert in economic strategy, clean technology, renewable energy, workforce development, and innovation economics. 

Currently, Dr. McHugh works on a capacity building strategic planning project for the Appalachian Regional Commission and community benefit process for an industrial-scale carbon capture demonstration facility. He leverages his expertise on economic impact projects for the National Science Foundation and the National Institute of Health Cooperative Research and Development Agreements. Additionally, Dr. McHugh works on a bioeconomy landscape analysis and strategic insights for the St. Louis region.
