Ms. Ceger is a toxicologist with nearly 20 years of experience in the development of New Approach Methods (NAMs) to refine, reduce, or replace animal testing. She has worked with multiple U.S. and international federal agencies in these efforts, has coordinated large international working groups, and has worked on projects and methods from acute toxicity testing to botulinum toxin testing, endocrine disruption, and inhalation toxicity.

Her NAMs experience includes: (1) identifying animal tests used for U.S. federal safety testing which present opportunities for the use of NAMs, (2) reviewing and evaluating NAM protocols; (3) performing systematic literature reviews to support the development of “Gold Standard” reference data against which to evaluate the performance of NAMs; (4) harmonization of NAMs protocols; (5) coordinating the efforts of multiple laboratories to conduct validation testing, performing data analysis, and reviewing laboratory reports; and (6) developing summary reports on validation efforts and presenting that data to Peer Review Panels for review.

Ms. Ceger’s current research is on integration strategies for endocrine disruptor screening, adverse outcome pathways and their use in supporting NAMs development, and the use of inhalation toxicity data for regulatory use by selected U.S. states.
