Connect

Leeann Siegel is a communication research scientist at RTI. She is a health communication expert with experience in media effects research and in the design and evaluation of communication campaigns and interventions. In her research, Dr. Siegel has used large-scale surveys, online experiments, and automated content analysis leveraging machine learning techniques to understand how media affects health behaviors, beliefs, and perceptions. At RTI, Dr. Siegel contributes to several projects including campaign evaluation and formative research for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) youth-focused anti-tobacco media campaigns, and tobacco landscape surveillance research for the Florida Department of Health’s Bureau of Tobacco Free Florida.

Prior to joining RTI in 2023, Dr. Siegel was a Cancer Research Training Award Postdoctoral Fellow in the Tobacco Control Research Branch of the National Cancer Institute.
