Joanne Ko is an environmental scientist at RTI’s Center for Environmental Health, Risk, and Sustainability. At RTI, Ms. Ko supports projects related to environmental contaminants, children’s environmental health, and dissemination of environmental health risk results. Specifically, her work focuses on identifying and eliminating lead in drinking and cooking water, lead-based paint, and asbestos hazards in schools and child care facilities across North Carolina through the Clean Classrooms for Carolina Kids™️ program.

Ms. Ko’s experience includes gathering, reviewing, and analyzing technical data and background information. She supports community-engaged programs through participatory science training and communication, data management, results dissemination, and mitigation activities.
