Heather Farr has more than 28 years of writing and editing experience in the areas of education, health, medicine and clinical studies, environmental science, and business. As a Senior Writer and Editor in the Center for Publishing and Production (CPP) at RTI, she supports global and cross-institute projects and programs that focus on education, public health, energy, and environmental issues and mitigation measures.

Ms. Farr contributes her experiences and knowledge about plain language and serves as a main point of contact in the CPP for answering plain language questions for RTI staff. She co-authored the Inclusive Language Primer, which is a document on how to use person-first and identify-first language to eliminate stigma, bias, and discrimination in writing.

Additionally, Ms. Farr is the Lead Editor and Publications Coordinator for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Jifunze Uelewe Activity. This project aims to sustainably improve literacy and numeracy skills for all pre-primary through Standard 4 pupils in 5 target regions in Tanzania. She also serves as the Lead Editor and Publications Coordinator of USAID Cambodia Inclusive Primary Education Activity. The aim of this project is to build education system capacity and mobilize the partner’s needs to effectively support Cambodian teachers on a national scale.
