Heather Danysh is a Director of Epidemiology at RTI Health Solutions. She has 15 years of epidemiologic research experience, and 6 years with a focus on phamacoepidemiology. Dr. Danysh is experienced in leading large multidisciplinary teams for multiyear, multidatabase postauthorization drug safety studies, including those for regulatory commitments, and in using health care data sources from the United States and Europe. She also designs and conducts feasibility assessments and validation studies. She has led research teams in protocol development, human subjects’ regulatory compliance, questionnaire development, primary data collection, data management, statistical data analysis and interpretation, report development, and manuscript preparation. Dr. Danysh has conducted pharmacoepidemiologic research in a variety of therapeutic areas, including oncology, type 2 diabetes, dementia, and psychosis.

Prior to joining RTI-HS, Dr. Danysh was research faculty at Baylor College of Medicine and an epidemiologist at the Texas Children’s Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, where she investigated factors associated with pediatric cancer risk with an emphasis on environmental exposures. Before receiving her doctorate, Dr. Danysh worked in global health research studying childhood nutrition and development as well as behavioral health research, with a focus on smoking cessation interventions.
