Erika Lutz is a Senior Food Security and Nutrition Advisor with RTI International. In this role, she provides technical thought leadership and strategic managerial support to leverage synergies across RTI’s multisectoral nutrition portfolio in Ethiopia, including research and learning activities under the USAID-funded Feed the Future Ethiopia Community Nutrition Activity (as a partner to FHI 360) and nutrition-led food system approaches under the complementary Feed the Future Ethiopia Transforming Agriculture Activity led by RTI.

With more than 25 years of experience, Ms. Lutz has a proven track record in successfully designing, writing, managing, and evaluating international development programs across the globe—Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Caribbean, and Latin America. She started her career as a Community Nutritionist for the Peace Corps in the West Indies and progressed to field-based, senior leadership roles on USDA, USAID, and World Bank-financed, large scale multisector nutrition projects in Vietnam, Ethiopia, and Cambodia.

Prior to joining RTI International, Ms. Lutz worked in Ethiopia for over a decade advancing multisectoral nutrition policies and their implementation for FHI 360, the World Bank Group, USAID/Ethiopia, and Save the Children. She also served as a senior technical advisor for the USAID Bureau for Global Health on the Child Survival and Health Grants Program and provided technical and operational support for several USAID-funded maternal and child health projects while at the American Red Cross, CAMRIS International, Salvation Army World Service Office, Academy for Educational Development, and Plan International.
