Eleanora (Nora) De Guzman is the Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) Lead of the USAID End Wildlife Crime (EWC) Activity.  She is responsible for strengthening capacity of regional civil society actors including underrepresented groups such as youth, women, indigenous peoples, and faith-based organizations in using the SBCC approach to plan, implement, and assess advocacy, social mobilization, and demand reduction campaigns to counter wildlife trafficking.

Ms. De Guzman has more than 30 years of experience in managing large social and behavior change projects in maternal and child health, family planning, avian and pandemic influenza, and counter wildlife trafficking in Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Vietnam, and Senegal.

Previously at RTI, she was the Demand Reduction Lead of the USAID Wildlife Asia and USAID Reducing Demand for Wildlife projects where she pioneered the use of SBCC to reduce consumer demand for illegal wildlife products.  The demand reduction campaigns she oversaw in China, Thailand, and Vietnam resulted in reducing intention to buy wildlife products by 50 percent, and social acceptability of using or owning wildlife products by 30 percent among consumers.

Aside from SBCC, Nora has extensive experience in project management and evaluation, social and market research, training, and communication campaign planning.  She has worked as a Communication Consultant with the Asian Development Bank, FHI 360, Johns Hopkins University – Center for Communication Programs, WHO Maldives, and the World Bank. She has delivered SBCC-related presentations in international conferences like the Global Health Council Conference, American Public Health Association Annual Meetings, and International SBCC Summit.
