With 23 years of experience managing public health projects across sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, and Eastern Europe, Daren Trudeau is a seasoned international development professional. In his current position as Senior Health System Specialist with RTI, Mr. Trudeau analyzes, crafts, and deploys innovative programming to improve health systems. As part of the International Development Group, he conceptualizes and develops proposals, concept notes, and expressions of interest, securing funding for global health initiatives and ensures project success by managing complex donor-funded programs, including oversight of budgets, reports, and M&E frameworks. 

Mr. Trudeau is a skilled leader adept at managing dispersed teams, coordinating work planning, budgeting, and reporting. He has provided invaluable technical insight into global health system strengthening and technology initiatives.  

Before joining RTI in January 2024, Mr. Trudeau was the Director of Global Health at Pendulum, where he led a team of senior program managers and artificial intelligence (AI) scientists in the development and deployment of supply chain AI solutions within health system architecture. He also worked as the Deputy Country Director for Jhpiego in Mozambique. With Jhpiego Mr. Trudeau successfully managed technical and operational aspects of projects funded by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the U.S. Agency for International Development, Unitaid, and the U.S. Department of Defense.  Additionally, he played a pivotal role on the USAID-funded Maternal and Child Survival Program (MCSP) in Mozambique, delivering exceptional technical and operational excellence. 

Mr. Trudeau has facilitated activities with and mentored numerous local NGOs in countries such as Democratic Republic of Congo, Mozambique, Senegal, and Benin.  He is fluent in French and has professional proficiency in both Portuguese and Spanish. He holds a master’s degree in Development Studies, a graduate certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and Project Management for Development (PMD) certification. He is also a part-time lecturer in the business school at St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia.
