Title: Science of Teaching ‘Launch and Lunch’: Remediation in Foundational Literacy and Numeracy
Hosts: RTI International

These guides have been developed by RTI International and are funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. On September 20, RTI International will be discussing the guides on Assessment-Informed Instruction and launching the newest how-to guide - Remediation in Foundational Literacy and Numeracy: A How-To Guide – on the side lines of the Transforming Education Summit in New York. During this two hour ‘launch and lunch’, you will hear from Science of Teaching authors about the relationship between assessment informed instruction and remediation, the core elements of effective remediation programs and how remediation approaches - embedded within literacy and numeracy programs - can help struggling learners. There has been a universal call for greater collective action in pursuit of the UN SDGs. Yet, how do we know if our collective efforts are leading to collective impact? What metrics should be used? How do we demonstrate results? Can we clearly link cause and effect?
In partnership with RTI International, Access Accelerated and our partners, City Cancer Challenge, NCD Alliance, PATH, World Bank and the World Heart Federation, this special UNGA side event will explore models of measuring collective impact and share experiences and insights from six years of collective action tackling NCDs. RTI’s Rachel Nugent will serve as a moderator of the event.
