Sarah d'Arbeloff joins the STeP team on August 1 from 9-10 am EDT to speak about Firmenich’s partnership with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to support the new sanitation economy — estimated at $200 billion globally, with $62 billion in India alone by 2021. Sarah brings insights and perspective to help participants understand
- the Gates Foundation and their Global Access Strategy, and
- the concern around odor issues associated with toilets.
Through a co-financing agreement available to partners with revolutionary ideas —the Foundation's Global Access Strategy — Firmenich is working to discover, develop and commercialize malodor suppressing technologies. Sarah will highlight
- Firmenich's work addressing sanitation odors, and
- how Firmenich navigated the Global Access Strategy to ensure creative sanitation solutions make a difference for those most in need -- while achieving business objectives.
Sarah will also share how the Foundation’s support enables Firmenich to leverage their strengths to help solve one of the world’s toughest problems – increased usage of toilets – and eventually pursue opportunities to commercialize their innovations in developed markets.
