Integrating CLA practices into development programming helps practitioners, policymakers, donors, and country stakeholders make informed decisions on how to improve program approaches and outcomes. Since the release of USAID’s new Policy Framework, which establishes fostering self-reliance as the agency’s approach to development and humanitarian assistance, it is important to understand how CLA can contribute to this shared goal.
Join us to hear from Stacey Young, Senior Learning Advisor and CLA Team Lead at USAID, who will share new horizons for CLA, including how USAID’s approach to CLA is being used to inform strategic decisions in the development of Mission Country Development Cooperation Strategies (CDCS) and implement programs that support countries on their journeys to self-reliance. This part of the program will be livestreamed for online viewing.
Building on last year’s discussion on learning and adapting, attendees will participate in interactive breakout sessions where practitioners will share their successes and challenges in effectively integrating CLA into their programming. These sessions will focus on how project teams and organizations can operationalize CLA, including the following topics:
- Right-sizing your CLA approach
- Ensuring your organizational structure is enabling CLA
- Measuring the impact of CLA on program outcomes to influence further investment
- Building capacity at the country level to sustain CLA beyond program close
