Join leading scholars from RTI International and North Carolina Central University for an event celebrating our ongoing partnership and the release of the book Measuring Everyday Life: Talking About Research and Why It Matters.
Measuring Everyday Life, published by RTI Press, is just one example of collaboration between RTI and NCCU. The book is drawn from interviews from the show The Measure of Everyday Life, hosted by RTI's Brian Southwell and aired on NCCU's public radio station, WNCU. In the interviews, social scientists and other guests discuss how research can address society’s most pressing issues, including health, equity, and the environment.
The event will include remarks by the editors of Measuring Everyday Life and others with connections to both RTI and NCCU, including:
- Tamara Terry - NCCU-RTI University Collaborations Relationship Manager and Research Survey Scientist
- Mariel Christian - Senior Director, Library and Information Services and RTI Press
- Dr. Siobahn Grady - Assistant Professor, Library and Information Sciences
- Dr. Brian Southwell - Senior Research Scientist
- Lackisha Sykes – General Manager of WNCU
- Dr. Karen Keaton-Jackson - Professor of English/Director, University Honors Program, Language and Literature
- Bridget Pittman Blackwell – MA Candidate General Psychology ‘22
To mark the 15th anniversary of RTI Press’s founding, the Press will contribute copies of Measuring Everyday Life, as well as a number of other books, to the NCCU Library. Guests are invited to enjoy free refreshments and can win a copy of the book.
