Join RTI International at the Asia Clean Energy Forum (ACEF)’s first virtual conference! RTI Senior Energy Policy Specialist Divina Chingcuanco will discuss our clean energy work as the former Chief of Party of the USAID Building Low Emission Alternatives to Develop Economic Resilience and Sustainability (B-LEADERS) project. This activity, which ran between 2014 and 2019, focused on decoupling economic growth from increased greenhouse gas emissions in the Phillipines.
Through Chingcuanco’s leadership, the USAID B-LEADERS project supported the investment of 242 megawatts of clean energy into the Philippine economy valued at roughly $579 million, sequestered the equivalent of approximately 1 million metric tons of carbon dioxide, and impacted more than 29 significant policies, strategies, plans, and agreements concerning renewable energy resources.
Chingcuanco will present in two sessions on Wednesday, June 17th:
During the Planning, Designing, and Building for Climate Resilience session at 10:30 AM PHT, she will cover how RTI’s work on the USAID B-LEADERS project contributed to climate resilience in the Philippines following the Siege of Marawi in 2017.
During the High Level Technology and Innovative Design for Power System Resilience session at 2:00 PM PHT, Chingcuanco will discuss the USAID B-LEADERS project’s use of technology to create a more resilient power system in the Philippines.
The ACEF, hosted by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), has gathered climate and energy experts together from around the globe for the past 15 years to discuss the most crucial climate and energy-related issues and needs.
