Rekha Perumallu joins RTI as new vice president, corporate strategy and transformation

Perumallu brings more than 15 years of experience in leading corporate strategy and operations


RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — After an extensive search process, RTI International, a nonprofit research institute, has selected Rekha Perumallu as its new vice president, corporate strategy and transformation. Perumallu joins RTI on March 6 and will be reporting to executive vice president, CFO and chief strategy and transformation officer Mike Kaelin.

In this role, Perumallu will work directly with the executive leadership team as a thought-partner to help the institute grow, scale and realize its long-term strategic ambitions. 

“Rekha brings strong strategy experience, a passion for our mission and a collaborative leadership approach to RTI,” said Kaelin. “She is joining at the perfect time to enhance our current team as we finalize creation of our long-term strategy.”

Perumallu brings a passion for serving purpose-driven organizations. Her career experience spans multiple industries including global nonprofit, professional association, education, government and health care organizations.  

Rekha joins RTI from Thomson Reuters, where she most recently served as senior director, strategy, with responsibility for defining the organization’s growth strategy. Previously, she served as senior director, strategy, for the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, where she led efforts around strategic planning, country growth and organizational design. Her experience is rounded out by ten years working at management consultancies.
