In September 2008, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) contracted with RTI International to provide support to FDA’s 2007 Food Protection Plan (FPP) by evaluating and implementing a comprehensive and systematic public health risk assessment for FDA-regulated products. The risk assessment considers the risk ranking of commodity/hazard pairs and uses the iRisk model. This comprehensive draft final report incorporates the following: - evaluation, critique, and suggested revisions of the risk ranking method using iRisk - industry practices flow diagrams and hazard information sheets - results of the expert panel that provided information for populating the iRisk model
