Pranav Athimuthu

Pranav Athimuthu is a quantitative social science researcher at RTI. His project experience includes statistical analysis, data management and visualization, and qualitative program evaluation for federal and state clients at the intersection of health and justice. His research includes the mental health impacts of restrictive housing, the impacts of public policy on state-level probation populations, statewide health information exchange policy, and the effectiveness of health informatics workforce development programs. He also supports the implementation of the Primary Care First and Making Care Primary value-based purchasing models through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, assisting with the improvement of care quality and patient experiences by synthesizing and presenting longitudinal performance data. 

Before joining RTI in 2023, Mr. Athimuthu was a research assistant at Duke University's Sanford School of Public Policy studying the effectiveness of K-12 media literacy education programs and the impact of cash bail policies in North Carolina. He also served as a legislative intern in the North Carolina General Assembly, performing policy research into autoimmune disease prevention and community development.
