Doug Rupert is a senior health communication scientist with a dual background in marketing communication and public health. He blends digital marketing techniques with behavioral science to conceptualize, develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based communication campaigns. He is certified in human-centered design and has more than two decades of experience designing campaigns that are grounded in evidence and behavior change theories/frameworks. 

Doug is also an expert in mixed-methods research and combines quantitative and qualitative data to explore individuals’ information needs, guide campaign development, and identify barriers and facilitators to meaningful behavioral change. He has conducted hundreds of focus groups, interviews, triads, and dyads—both virtual and in person—and has designed and implemented dozens of experimental studies examining how specific messaging, visuals, and information sources influence audience knowledge, perceptions, and behaviors. 

Trained as a journalist, Doug is a prolific writer with more than two decades of experience creating content for both community and professional audiences. He has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications and has created countless materials that translate complex concepts into clear, actionable recommendations using plain language.
