Cristina Amiama has over 25 years of experience in educational policy, strategy development, inclusive education, curriculum design, and early literacy development. She currently serves as the Deputy Chief of Party for the USAID-funded Basic Education Activity in the Dominican Republic. Previously, she served as Dean of ISFODOSU (Instituto Superior de Formación Docente Salomé Ureña) from 2019 to 2024 and as General Director of Special Education at the Ministry of Education from 2012 to 2019, where she led the national technical team and regional teams, driving impactful initiatives to support inclusive education.

Dr. Amiama has published academic articles in national and international journals on topics related to reading literacy and inclusive education. As a Dominican national, she brings extensive experience and strong relationships with key stakeholders across the government, private sector, and other sectors in the Dominican Republic.
