Streamflow forecasts have the potential to provide valuable, real-time guidance to water managers across the country. To realize this potential, managers are correct to ask the question – “How valuable are these forecasts for my specific use?”. However, streamflow forecast evaluation is not widely performed outside of a research setting, in part due to the technical complexity, data requirements, and the lack of tools available to practitioners.
