Texas Children's Hospital Research Seminar

Paul Pulliam, RTI's Center for Health Research director, and Jonathan Thornburg, RTI's director of Exposure and Aerosol Technology, will discuss ways to protect public health following Hurricane Harvey.

The researchers will discuss their work on environmental exposure and public health concerns following hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The lecture will include a summary of key research outcomes form prior environmental exposure registries and studies, lessons learned through past post-disaster surveillance and assessment research, examples of steps researchers can take to coordinate public health responses to future environmental disasters, and potential methods to improve resiliency and ensure continuity of the public health system in a post-environmental disaster setting.
