Experiences in the Data Commons: Bringing together Data, Community, and Compute to Improve Patient Outcomes

Presenters: Rebecca Boyles, MSPH; Rashonda Lewis, JD
CDC is leading a national effort to create modern public health surveillance infrastructure that is efficient, modular, connected, and has scalable data ecosystems that meet users' needs in real-time. A tailored, client-specific approach builds a community around data ecosystem change and innovation, maximizes data access and compute capabilities, and ensures compliance with data exchange requirements.
During this session, attendees will receive lessons learned from projects that incorporate mission, resources, and the user community to inform the data ecosystem development process, including how to make incremental and coordinated progress toward increasing the movement and utility of data, meeting users where they are, moving from use cases to scalable production, and integrating interoperability standards in a modular development model.
