RTI is hosting its annual Symposium on Community Safety and Policing Research on April 17th-18th, 2024, from 9am-5pm both days. The free two-day event will examine evidence-based strategies to improve community safety and features an array of topics, including officer recruitment and retention, victim engagement, reducing community violence, and forensic genetic genealogy. Featured sessions and speakers will include experts from law enforcement, state and federal government, and community-based organizations. See the agenda and speaker bios for more information.
The intended audience is multi-disciplinary including law enforcement, state, county, and city public safety officials, policy makers, and other community stakeholders. Register to attend in-person or virtually. In-person attendance will include networking opportunities, lunch, virtual reality demonstrations and displays.
Featured sessions and speakers will include experts from law enforcement, public safety practitioners, community leaders, and researchers. Panels will address a range of topics that highlight innovative and data-informed strategies and the translation of research to practice in the field, including:
