The prestigious International Standards Organization accreditation provides RTI with a competitive advantage in data protection
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — RTI International, a nonprofit research institute, has received ISO 27001 certification from the International Standards Organization for the third consecutive year following a third-party accreditation. The certification indicates that the RTI’s Information Security Management System, managed internally by the institute’s Global Technology Solutions (GTS) team, meets rigorous requirements for data handling and information security and maintains excellent risk management, cyber-resilience and operational practices.
The third-party audit, conducted by A-LIGN, included an examination of RTI’s entire information technology network.
“Compliance with this internationally recognized standard confirms that our security management program is comprehensive and follows leading practices,” said RTI Chief Information Security Officer Bernice Bond. “This certification provides a competitive advantage to RTI when responding to proposals for work, especially when sensitive data is in scope.”
GTS serves as RTI’s information technology resource, supporting its research areas with a full range of computing and technology solutions for client projects.
RTI has also maintained ISO 9001 certification, earned by the institute’s Technology Practice Area, since 2021. The certification attests to RTI’s ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer needs and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
