[ KAPMEIER ] [ OPTIONS ] [ OUTPUT_GROUPS ] [ STATEMENTS ]
A new procedure, KAPMEIER has been created to fit the Kaplan-Meier model, also known as the product limit estimator, to survival data from sample surveys and other clustered data applications. KAPMEIER uses either discrete or continuous time variable to provide point estimates for the survival curve for failure time outcomes that may contain censored observations. For data obtained from simple random samples, the theory for the Kaplan-Meier model is described in Kaplan and Meier, 1958. For data obtained from complex surveys, the theory for the Kaplan-Meier model is described in Williams, 1995.
SUDAAN produces the Kaplan-Meier estimates and their standard errors. SUDAAN allows the user to specify grouping variables. Separate Kaplan-Meier estimates will be produced for each level of the grouping variables. The estimates are the output to a data set.
