Governance and Economic Development Projects: Mali

Recruitment for Consultant Services for the Development and Implementation of a Program for Stakeholder Reflection on Local Development Project (PACR) (2007-2009)

Client/Agency

Government of Mali

Description

The purpose of this project was to develop a multi-sector and participatory approach focusing on the durability of actions and social and socioeconomic investments that can lead to poverty reduction in rural areas by accelerating economic growth. The RTI project component consisted of developing and delivering training modules on local development themes that could instigate exchanges and discussions of ideas and opinions between the various stakeholders—in particular, the representatives of the administrative authorities at regional and sub-district levels. These representatives were in charge of decentralization (including in the technical areas of education, health, water and sanitation, planning, social development, rural development, environment, craft industry and culture, tourism, trade, and the promotion of women, among others), communal councils, grassroots socio-professional organizations, and civil society organizations.
