Georgiy Bobashev

Senior Research Statistician

Georgiy Bobashev, PhD, is a senior research statistician at RTI, where he has been working since 1998. His current research interests are substance use studies in which he focuses on personalized treatments and a systems approach to addictions, and predictive modeling in which he focuses on methods development in forecasting health outcomes. These methods often combine mechanistic (e.g., agent-based and system dynamics) and statistical models. Dr. Bobashev has applied modeling to health- and policy-related areas such as substance use, HIV, influenza, colorectal cancer, diabetes, and political violence. In addition, he is a nonresident fellow at the Brookings Institution, a nonresident fellow at the John Hopkins Center for Advanced Modeling, a member of the Industrial Advisory Board at the Institute for Advanced Analytics at North Carolina State University, an external fellow at Geary Dynamics Lab at the University College Dublin, and an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Statistics at North Carolina State University.
