Dr. Sathapana Naowarat is the Resident Malaria Advisor in Thailand for the Country Health Information Systems and Data Use (CHISU) Program, funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development and led by JSI with RTI as a partner. In this capacity, he oversees overall project performance, management, and execution; ensuring all project deliverables are compliant and completed within budget; and maintaining strong working relations with USAID, government counterparts, NGOs, and other stakeholders including the community, such as Local Administration Organizations. 

Previously, for RTI, Dr. Naowarat was the Senior Surveillance and Monitoring Specialist for Malaria under the Inform Asia: USAID’s Health Research Program in Thailand. Prior to joining RTI, he was a Medical Research Scientist (Epidemiology Section) under the International Emerging Infections Program (IEIP) in Nonthaburi, Thailand; a Medical Research Technologist focused on behavioral research related to HIV & STDs; a Disease Control Technical Officer, focused on TB & HIV and a Public Health Officer (Trainer for HIV focus group and c) within the Ministry of Public Health in Thailand. 

Dr. Naowarat is a guest lecturer in Epidemiology at Mahidol University’s Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, Thailand, and a published author in epidemiology scientific journals.
