Laurie W. Hinnant, PhD, has more than 25 years of experience informing program evaluation and improvement through the design and implementation of community and case study research. She has led research and evaluation projects for many organizations including divisions within the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the de Beaumont Foundation, and state departments of public health.

Dr. Hinnant is a skilled facilitator and leads stakeholder groups, technical expert panels, and other teams to build consensus, solicit input into program development and improvement and conduct strategic planning using processes like the modified Delphi technique and use of virtual engagement tools such as XLeap. She is the Stakeholder Panel and Technical Expert Panel Coordinator for the Patient Centered Preventive Healthcare Project for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, where she oversees engagement of these groups in support of understanding patient and provider needs around preventive health care.

As the current Project Director for the Implementation of Evidence Informed Harm Reduction Services in the U.S. project for the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation with the Department of Health and Human Services, Dr. Hinnant focuses on barriers, facilitators, and opportunities for improving harm reduction services. She is also the Project Director for the Development of a Consensus Statement for Treatment of Depression and Anxiety in Patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease project for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation.
